America has immigrants from all over the world, and as a result, it is a huge melting pot of different cultures and languages. Some people who move to America don’t just drop their native language. They cherish it and try to pass it on to their following generations to try and keep their heritage and culture alive. But the passing on of a language to new generations can be a tricky situation due to the fact that these old languages aren’t spoken regularly in America. How does the community and system that we live in affect the ideas and understandings that past generations and cultures developed and how does learning a new language affect the perception and understanding of languages in bilingual children?
