Conclusion
Based on the information provided by the three sources as well as analyzing Shivanii and Kelvin’s narratives, the perception of language and learning capabilities can be greatly affected by bilingualism, and also by the community and people that one is around. As shown by the texts, the understanding of two different languages can help children learn better, but certain examples such as Shivanii’s narrative disclaim this statement. Scholars could look into the long-term results of bilingual children vs. monolingual children and compare the results to better understand whether it has a positive or negative affect on cognitive learning.
