Gregory, Eve. One Child, Many Worlds: Early Learning in Multicultural Communities. New York: Teacher's College, 1997. Print.
In One Child, Many Worlds: Early Learning in Multicultural Communities, Eve Gregory and other authors of eleven different case studies draw on the experiences of different children to provide insights into what it means for young children to come in contact with new languages and how they interact within this language setting. The preface of the book describes how this book reveals the wealth of knowledge of the children in how they learn and adapt to new language environments, and my interoperation of the book was pretty close to what the book describes. I believe that this book shows how children interact with their new surroundings and describes the relationships that are important in their learning process. She examines the effects that people such as siblings, parents, teachers, friends, etc. have on children when they are developing understandings of the language and the interpretation of it.
